- Jordan Staal was fined $2,500 for hitting Braydon Coburn from behind in today's game between the Penguins and the Flyers.

- The Lightning dealt Pavel Kubina to the Flyers for Jon Kalinski and two draft picks.

- The Penguins signed James Neal to a six-year contract extension. OHMYGODWHATNOYESBESTDAYEVER!!!!! Excuse us while we flail.

- Steven Stamkos has forty goals. WTF? Awesome but still crazy.

- Wild forward Warren Peters was suspended for two games after cross-checking David Backes in the side of the face.

- Kris Versteeg was fined $2,500 for his cross-check to Jaff Halpern in the Capitals & Panthers game.

- The Wild re-signed Kyle Brodziak to a three-year contract extension.

February's News Tidbits

- There's an entire article on ESPN that is about Brad Richards and what we would find in the closet. And we were extremely disappointed that Vincent Lecavalier was not inside it.

- Tomorrow, the Penguins 'Inside the Room' will debut. Here is the entire schedule.

- Mike Richards will be the next victim on 'NHL 36' which will debut Feb. 22.

- On Sunday, NBC and the NHL will have it's annual 'Hockey Day in America' which is basically nine hours of games and all hockey all day. We couldn't be happier.

- Rich Peverley will be out at least 4-6 weeks after suffering a sprained ligament in one of his knees.

- The Bruins gave offers to four UFAs (Kelly, Campbell, Paille & Thornton).

- Jamie Benn was cut in the leg during the Stars game tonight and will miss the games the Stars have this weekend.

Trade News:

- Tampa Bay Lightning's Dominic Moore was traded to the San Jose Sharks for a second-round draft pick.

- The Dallas Stars traded Nicklas Grossman to the Philadelphia Flyers for a pair of draft picks.

- Canadiens traded Hal Gill to the Predators for Blake Geoffrion, Robert Slaney and a 2012 second round pick.

Post-Valentine's Day News & Notes

Alright ladies, get your heads outta the empty chocolate boxes and turn off the Gerard Butler movies. It's time for some hockey, beotches.

- Erik Gudbranson talks about dressing up like a girl for rookie hazing...it's pretty funny.

- Dominic Moore was fined $2,500 for interfereing with Ruslan Fedotenko and injuring him.

- Mike Comrie has called it quits after ten seasons.

- The Oilers have re-signed Andy Sutton to a one-year extension. We would make an 'expert' joke but we're getting lazy.

- PuckDaddy has a great interview with John Tavares, one of the more underrated players in the league right now. It feels weird saying that about a number one pick.

- Dustin Penner served pancakes at a local iHop for charity. We love it.

- The Penguins held their annual Pens & Pins.

- Tuomo Ruutu has an upper-body injury and will be out for at least two weeks. Uh, that's not good news.

- Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo was suspended for two games for an illegal hit on Jonathan Ericsson.

- The Jets and Ducks traded minor players, Riley Holzapfel to the Ducks for Maxime Macenauer.

- Kris Versteeg is thriving in Florida and we couldn't be happier for the guy. Hopefully Dale keeps him in the Sunshine State.
